Prepare for the transition from RUG-IV to PDPM, including comparing the differences, understanding key components of PDPM, and actionable steps to prepare.

Understand the impacts of the new long-term care survey process in your state, including gaining a deeper understanding on what the nine facility tasks are, how they are being surveyed, and strategies to successfully prepare and avoid tags associated with the nine facility tasks, and strategies and solutions that can help your community stay survey-ready all year long

Understand and fully take advantage of the current SNF VBP program measure, including the key components to monitor and impact the readmission measure; and the reimbursement impact of the SNF VBP program.

Prepare to implement Trauma-Informed Care, including actionable information and steps to assist your teams in complying with new regulations, and guidance on what it will take to become a trauma-informed organization.

 

Continuing Education:

Continuing education credit will be available for nursing home administrators and social workers. CNE will be applied for through the DC Board of Nursing.

Stephanie Kessler, Partner, Senior Living Consulting Group, RKL

With more than two decades of experience as a nurse, healthcare educator and consultant, Kessler specializes in post-acute care operations, strategic planning, regulatory and billing compliance, third-party reimbursement, continuing education, quality improvement, survey assistance and electronic health record implementation. Kessler is a board member and the chair-elect for the American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing and serves on boards and volunteers for several community organizations.

 

Jill Schumann, President/CEO, LeadingAge Maryland

Jill Schumann serves as President and CEO of LeadingAge Maryland, one of 39 state affiliates of LeadingAge joining together to expand the world of possibilities for aging. LeadingAge Maryland mobilizes not-for-profit organizations and a host of other partners to shape the future of aging in Maryland. She was a principal in the consulting services of ParenteBeard, and for more than ten years, Schumann served as President and CEO of Lutheran Services in America (LSA). She has served in executive roles with health and human service organizations and has created ground-breaking programs in post-acute healthcare and behavioral health.

Jordan has over eight years experience in sales and system implementation for companies across the United States, Central America, and Asia. He values learning the intricacies and challenges of his customers and is passionate about cultivating and maintaining long-lasting relationships. Jordan currently directs the sales efforts of the abaqis Quality Management System for Providigm and is committed to helping nursing centers improve survey results, reduce hospital readmission rates, implement QAPI and increase census. Jordan focuses on partnering with administrators and clinician leaders to become a resource and advocate for them while navigating ever-changing industry policies, practices, and trends.
