11:15AM-12:15PM

Hope, Healing, and Renewal for Spiritual Caregivers
Dr. Sabrina N'Diave, Founder, The Heart Nest Center for Peace and Healing

As spiritual caregivers, we often find ourselves deeply invested in the well-being of our communities, yet the very nature of our work can leave us vulnerable to the debilitating effects of chronic stress and trauma. This session equips participants with practical, research-backed tools to nurture their own physical, mental, and emotional resilience.

12:15-1:00PM  Lunch - Roundtable: Spiritual Care in the Midst of Current Events

1:00-2:00PM

Too Smart for God
Pastor Dave Simpson, Good Shepherd Lutheran (ELCA) Church

Dave speaks with honesty, humor, and heart about his unexpected journey from skeptic to pastor. Drawing from his memoir Too Smart for God, he explores how doubt, love, and a bit of stubborn curiosity led him to faith. His talks often touch on themes like grace for late bloomers, finding purpose in unlikely places, and how God shows up in the messiness of real life.

2:00-2:15PM Break

2:15-3:30PM

Theology as a Call to Self-Care
Rabbi Kim Blumenthal, JSSA Hospice

We will dive into how a deeper understanding of how our theological foundations can empower aging service providers to prioritize their own wellbeing, ultimately enhancing their ability to serve others with compassion and resilience. Prepare to be inspired and equipped with evidence-based strategies to nurture your mind, body, and soul.
