Jill A. Schumann

President and CEO

Jill Schumann headshotJill Schumann serves as President and CEO of LeadingAge Maryland, one of 39 state affiliates of LeadingAge joining together to expand the world of possibilities for aging. LeadingAge Maryland mobilizes not-for-profit organizations and a host of other partners to shape the future of aging in Maryland.

She was a principal in the consulting services of ParenteBeard, and for more than ten years, Schumann served as President and CEO of Lutheran Services in America (LSA). LSA is one of the largest nonprofit networks in the country, connecting over 300 health and human service organizations. Together they serve one in 50 Americans each year and have aggregated annual incomes of over $21 billion. Prior to her work with LSA, she launched Kairos Health Systems, a post-acute managed care alliance and was a senior executive with Tressler Lutheran Services. She has served in executive roles with health and human service organizations and has created ground-breaking programs in post-acute healthcare and behavioral health.

Schumann currently serves on the boards of directors of the National Human Services Assembly, Bethel New Life and Portico Benefit Services and has served on many other boards, including the board of LeadingAge. She was appointed by President Obama to the White House Council for Community Solutions. For the ninth year in a row in 2011, she was named by the NonProfit Times one of the top 50 leaders of power and influence in the United States. She holds an MBA from Mount St. Mary’s University and has been awarded honorary doctoral degrees by Valparaiso University and Concordia University Chicago.

Allison Ciborowski

Director of Member Relations

Allison Ciborowski joined LeadingAge Maryland as Director of Member Relations in January of 2018. She has been actively involved with LeadingAge Maryland since its founding, and is thrilled to be moving into a formal role with the organization. Allison brings more than 9 years of experience in both human and aging services fields. Her areas of expertise include program development, project management, instructional design, teaching adult learners, culture change in long-term care, and Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. After receiving her bachelor’s degree from Towson University in Family Studies and Community Development, Allison held roles in a variety of settings including hospice, assisted living, and dementia specific supports and services.

Allison comes to LeadingAge Maryland from the Integrace Institute at Copper Ridge, where she worked for more than 6 years leading the development of dementia-specific learning opportunities for both professional and family caregivers. She managed the development and implementation of numerous in-person and online continuing education offerings, and collaborated with leaders and staff throughout the Integrace family of supports and services to meet educational needs across the organization. Most recently as the Director of Dementia Education, Allison lead the design, development, and implementation of several novel learning programs and conferences, and contributed to the development, implementation, and evaluation of Integrace’s person-centered model of living.

Allison is currently completing her Masters in Strategic Leadership at Bethel University. She also serves as a Research Facilitator on a team at the University of Maryland School of Nursing, where she delivers person-centered care education in skilled nursing communities enrolled in the NIH-funded study “Testing the Implementation of EIT-4 BPSD.”

Deanne Bellin

Communications Manager

Deanne Bellin joined LeadingAge Maryland as Communications Manager in February of 2019. Deanne brings more than 10 years of experience in marketing communications in various fields. Her areas of expertise include social media and public relations strategy, website development, event planning, and content generation. She holds a bachelor's degree in Business Communications from Stevenson University.
