Join us for Maryland’s premier education and networking event for leaders of senior living.

Designed for CEOs, COOs, CFOs, Executive Directors, board members, and other senior leaders, this interactive symposium will provide updates and conversations on the most pressing issues facing senior living organizations today.

This opening session will set the tone of conversation for the day. The presenters will highlight Ziegler’s 2025 senior living research findings in areas such as consumer demand, operating trends, strategic growth trends and initiatives. The presenters will provide an update on the current capital markets environment and the attractiveness of options for senior living borrowers.

In the rapidly evolving senior living sector, effective succession planning and smooth CEO transitions are critical to organizational stability and future success. This session is designed specifically for board members and CEOs, offering practical strategies to navigate leadership changes while maintaining continuity and mission alignment. Attendees will gain insights into best practices for preparing for CEO retirements, developing internal leadership pipelines, and managing the complexities of executive transitions. Real-world examples and lessons learned will highlight how thoughtful planning can minimize disruption and position organizations for long-term growth.

This session takes a multidisciplined approach in discussing how to structure, plan, and execute these projects effectively. Topics will include corporate and legal considerations, land sourcing, product mix considerations, predevelopment costs, and construction trends shaping the next generation of senior living. Attendees will gain insight into building a compelling case for mission-driven expansion and positioning their organization for sustainable growth.

This interactive panel discussion will feature leaders in senior living and residents in leadership within their community. Speakers will highlight practical approaches to effective communication between “management” and residents, discuss how to work through challenges and conflicts effectively, and share lessons learned.

  1. Recognize best practices for resident/management/board collaboration in senior living communities
  2. Identify approaches for managing conflict and challenges
  3. Discuss strategies for best incorporating resident perspectives in the boardroom
